dani tirrell & The Congregation
Welcome to the official website of dani tirrell and The Congregation (DTTC), a vibrant collective of dancers, choreographers, musicians, spoken word artists, and visual artists based in Seattle, WA. We center our work on stories from the African Diaspora, exploring the diverse identities and communities Black individuals inhabit.
DTTC is more than just a place to create and perform; it’s a communal space where we can learn, share, and grow together. Our weekly classes and gatherings encourage members to connect, take part, and exchange knowledge and inspiration. Here, we celebrate Black joy, movement, and storytelling, creating spaces where every individual can experience freedom and solace.
Whether you’re joining a class, watching a performance, or exploring new perspectives, we invite you to immerse yourself in the artistry, community, and resilience that DTTC embodies.

ASSITANT DIRECTOR
Majinn
Majinn (They/Them) is a queer, disabled, and mixed Black massage therapist and dance artist/educator who utilizes their training in multiple dance forms to find and express their whole self continually. They believe that to be the best person they can be, they need to push their comfort zones continuously. Majinn works to help guide people in becoming more confident and connected in their bodies, find joy in their movement, and be able to speak their voices through Black social dance forms. One of Majinn’s biggest goals in dance is to continue spreading the histories of Black social dance forms in and out of academia so that the cultures are continually learned and respected. They also aim to give back to the communities and cultures from which these art forms were created in any way they can. Majinn’s art is for them and the communities they come from, always striving to be authentically themselves in their movement and work. You can find Majinn under Majinn_Moves on Instagram.
